John Aguilera pursued his dream to create Active Escapes and transitioned from corporate life in the software and pharmaceutical industries to do so. Prior to his corporate experience, which included rewarding experience within Johnson and Johnson, he served in the Navy for eight years as a Naval Aviator helicopter pilot and instructor specializing in anti-submarine warfare and combat search and rescue. A graduate of Boston University, he grew up on New York’s Long Island, the son of a French mother and Spanish father. He spent summers in Brittany, and grew up with three sisters and a brother who remain in the Northeast near his parents. John loves golf, travel, aviation, his wife, two boys and his dog, Riley
